London Ice Sculpting Festival:
Date: 10th, 11th and 12th of January, 2014
The London Ice sculpting Festival is a famous event in London and is set to take place at Wood Wharf in Canary Wharf. There will be three competitions and 10 competing teams with 20 international ice sculptors for this year. The Single Block competition is on the 10th January from 12:00 to 14:30 and the theme is ‘River Life’. A freestyle competition is on the same day from 16:00 – 20:00 and sculptors can be creative with their own choice of designs. The Big block competition is on the 11th and 12th of January with the theme of ‘Fabulous Fashion’. Visitors can enjoy the event on all the three days and they can also vote for the best ice sculpture. The announcement of winners and prize-giving will take place at 5pm on the 12th January.
Exclusive Guided Tours:
Date: 11th and 12th January, 2014
Exclusive Guided Tours are open on 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th and 19th of January, 2014. An expert guide will accompany you to tour Buckingham Palace and you can visit the state rooms. The State Rooms are a grand setting with famous collections, paintings, furniture, sculptures, porcelain and royal collections that will be explained by your expert guide. A maximum of 30 people are allowed on each tour and it is advisable to pre book. The tour ends with a glass of champagne and a an official guidebook thats provided with each entry ticket.
London International Mime Festival:
Date: 8th January to 1st February
This is the 38th London International Mime Festival and serves 8 UK premieres and 6 London Premieres. It is set to happen at various venues including the Southbank Centre, Platform theatre, Barbican Pit and the Royal Opera House. Non Nova/ Phia Menard Foehn, Non Nova/Phia Menard Vortex, MPTA/Mathurin Bolze and Jakop Ahlbom/ Alamo Race Track takes place on 11th and 12th of January.
