Malala Yousafzai – A Teenage Activist

Malala Yousafzai is an icon of education and a world famous teenager who is an activist for education and women’s rights. She is a Pakistani school girl from the town of Mingora in the Swat District of Pakistan. Yousafzai started reacting when girls were banned from attending the school.

Yousafzai started to write about women’s life under the Taliban for BBC Urdu with a pseudonym and later spoke against the Taliban on the national current affairs show ‘Capital Talk’. She continually gave interviews and talks to various media and finally appeared on Television to support female education.

That was a major turning point in this young girl’s life and she also started receiving accolades and appreciations from various foundations, organizations, groups and lots more. Her fame raised one step higher when she was awarded Pakistan’s first National Youth Peace Prize, which was later renamed as The National Malala Peace prize.


Johnny Depp May Retire From Acting Soon

The Golden Globe Award winner actor Johnny Depp during an interview with the BBC to promote the U.K release of The Lone Ranger, has revealed that he may retire from his career of acting soon. Multi faceted Johnny Depp is one of the most celebrated American actors and he has been a nominee for many top awards including the Oscar Award.

Depp told in a BBC Breakfast interview that “I wouldn’t say that I’m dropping out any second, but I would say that’s probably not too far away.” Depp who played the role of Tonto in his recent movie ‘The Lone Ranger’ stated “At a certain point, you start thinking, and when you add up the amount of dialogues that you say per year, for example, you realize that you’ve said written the words more than you’ve actually had a chance to say your own words.”
